As well as being involved in the design, development, content management and strategy for 3 different websites at CairnsVet.com.au over 7 years, I have developed an extensive online network of social media, web 2.0, local business directory and blog channels that help clients find our business and services, and educate pet owners on effective pet health care. As well as working closely with web designers and others in our team to improve or business website and social networking pages, I have been involved in the majority of content creation including dozens of articles on pet health and disease. This has helped build our brand locally and also attracts national attention at times, when topics covered by our website or blog are topical in current affairs (such as Hendra Virus, Lyssavirus, Tick Paralysis, Parvovirus, animal welfare, etc.) This experience has given me direct insight into the benefits of online communication and the benefit for both business and its clients (and in our case patients).
